A conference table is a long and wide table used for meetings and gatherings, typically in a workplace. Conference tables have a larger and wider table top than a standard dining table, and provides ample room for paper and important materials for convenience and efficiency. Since most conference tables are designed to accommodate for a variety of chair heights, the overall height of a conference table is taller than most dining or gathering tables. Most standard conference tables seat between four and eight individuals, yet can be customized to seat dozens depending on size and shape.
A conference table with a length of 192 inches (16ft or 4.88 m) and width of 58 inches (147 cm) will be able to fit 15 people.
A range of six to eight people are able to fit at a conference table with a length of 8 feet (2.44 m).
A clearance of 48 inches (121.9cm) between the table and wall is the minimum and recommended all around the conference table for spaces up to 16 feet (487cm) in length. This changes to 60 inches (1.52 m) for spaces up to 22 feet (6.7 m) in length. For a more comfortable space between the table and wall rather than the stated minimum, 56 inches (1.42 m) is considered adequate.
