Private | Personal Transport
Private transport is the use of a transportation vehicle, not available to the public, where the user decides the route and transit of choice. It includes all forms of self-propelled vehicles as well as non-motorized methods. A taxicab, although the vehicle may not belong to the passenger, is considered a mode of commercial private transport, as the user has the freedom to choose the time and route. Motorized examples include an automobile, motorcycle, private jet, and a motorized wheelchair, and non-motorized examples include a bicycle, ice skates, and a skateboard. Cycling and walking are the most sustainable private transport systems. 86.2% of passenger miles are by private transport vehicles, and it is the most employed form of transport in most of the world.
