Semi-Trailer Trucks

Semi-trailer trucks, or semi-trucks for short, are large transportation trucks that haul goods via a trailer attached to the back. The semi-truck is equipped with two or three axles which are made for hauling heavy cargo. Behind the main cabin is where the hitch is located, which can be used to attach to trailers, other trucks, etc. The cost to own a semi-truck could run up to $100,000 and maintenance would be upwards to $60,000. To drive a semi-truck, you’ll need a special license called Class A Commercial License.

Tesla Semi
Scale illustration of an average Tesla Semi with dimensions for height and length compared to a human

The Tesla Semi is a safe and comfortable electric truck. There are four independent motors that provide maximum power and acceleration, while requiring the lowest energy cost per mile. The vehicle can accelerate from 0-60 miles per hour in 20 seconds, fully loaded. The enhance autopilot helps avoid collisions, and the centered driver position provides maximum visibility and control. The low center of gravity offers rollover protection. As electric energy costs are half those of diesel, the Tesla Semi has a low cost of ownership with fewer systems to maintain. It provides more than $200,000 in fuel savings.

The Tesla Semi has an estimated total length of 20’9” (249” | 632 cm), estimated width of 8’6” (102” | 259 cm), and estimated height of 13’ (156” | 396 cm). The wheelbase of the Tesla Semi is estimated to be 13’ (156” | 395 cm) with an estimated curb weight of 25000 lb (11340 kg).
