Dog Breed Groups are the group of breed categories that divide dogs by the original work they were bred and developed to achieve. There are over 190 dog breeds that are divided into different Dog Breed Groups. The Dog Breed Groups include the Herding Group, Hound Group, Non-Sporting Group, Sporting Group, Terrier Group, Working Group, Miscellaneous Group, and Foundation Stock Services (FSS). Dog Breed Groups have different roles, characteristics, and history. Each dog breed belongs to a particular Dog Breed Group and the dog breeds within each of the groups share characteristics that make them suitable for the group.
