Types of Yoga Poses
There are over 300 types of yoga poses. Each yoga pose, or asana, targets a different part of the body like the legs, arms, or back. The different types of yoga poses can be categorized by difficulty or the anatomy of the body that they target. A series of poses combined within a yoga session is a sequence.
Different types of yoga poses open unique energy channels and chakras. Overall, all yoga poses increase body flexibility and strength. As a yogi deepens his or her yoga practice, they will be able master more advanced and challenging poses while being expected to also improve on the basic yoga poses.
