Ministry of Magic
The Ministry of Magic is the term generally used to describe the governing body for the magical community in a respective country. The Ministry of Magic is presided over by a Minister of Magic who oversees the various departments in the wizarding government. Departments include the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes and the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures.
In Britain, the Ministry of Magic is near the Muggle government in central London and is entered through a telephone box (if you are a visitor), or through nearby public toilets (if you work there). The British Ministry atrium is a large green tiled expansive space that features The Fountain of Magical Brethren, a sculpture depicting golden figures of a wizard, witch, centaur, goblin and house-elf.
