Wizards are magical folk.  They are born with magical ability which usually appears as a child. To train and hone their magical skills, they are enrolled at a magical school at the age of eleven. In the UK, the wizarding school is called Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and it is reached on the Hogwarts Express, which leaves from Platform 9 ¾ at King’s Cross station every September. Wizards are taught a variety of subjects including Transfiguration, Charms and Defense Against the Dark Arts. Famous wizards include Harry Potter, Albus Dumbledore and Severus Snape.
