BenQ is a Taiwanese multinational company that is known for its technology products, consumer electronics, computing, and communication devices. BenQ received its brand name after the company slogan, “Bring Enjoyment N Quality to Life.” BenQ was founded in 1984 and released its first mobile phone in 2003. BenQ’s headquarters are located in Taipei, Taiwan with 5 branch offices in the Asia-Pacific, Europe, China, Latin America, and North America. BenQ is recognized for being the world’s No. 1-selling DLP projector brand. The main products produced by BenQ include TFT LCD monitors, digital projectors, digital cameras, and mobile computing devices.

When was BenQ founded?

BenQ was originally founded in 1984 as part of Acer Peripherals Inc. Later in 2001, BenQ spun off from Acer in order to create its own separate brand and company. BenQ is currently led by Kuen-Yao (K.Y.) Lee and is listed as the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
