Plant Pots

Plant Pots, also known as flowerpots, are containers in which flowers or other planters are cultivated as well as displayed. Plant Pots help transport plants to new places, plant seeds, or help with the growth of plants in colder weather. Plant Pots are designed to have a hole at the bottom to let extra water flow out and are sometimes paired with a saucer at their bottom to prevent damaging the surface they are on. Plant Pots can be made from plastic, metal, wood, stone, or even sometimes biodegradable material.
The type of plant pot that is best for planting provides draining, fits the size of the plant proportionally, and doesn’t get too hot while out in the sun. This allows plant pots to be highly versatile as they can be made from anything like an old container or a highly-decorated vessel.
A plant pot is typically measured by its diameter if it is a round pot or from one rim to the other, if it is rectangular. Measuring the depth of a pot can be done by using a tape measure at the side of the pot from the ground to its top.
Although some recommend washing pots to reduce the chances of the plant getting damping-off disease, it is better to not wash plant pots. It is instead advised to let plants grow in their natural habitat as planting a seed or plant in a dirty pot is not different from planting into soil.
