Description

The Doctor is an alien Time Lord who travels through time and space. His time machine is called the TARDIS (short for Time And Relative Dimension In Space) and takes the appearance of an old British-style police box. The First Doctor appeared on British television screens in 1963, marking a new era of British science-fiction. The First Doctor was played by English actor William Hartnell, who characterized the Doctor as a mysterious wizard-like figure. Of the 134 episodes Hartnell appeared in as Doctor Who, 44 episodes are missing due to the routine deletion of tv archives.
