Description

Alexander Graham Bell was a Scottish inventor, scientist, and engineer recognized as creating and patenting the first telephone. Alexander Graham Bell was heavily influenced in his work by his deaf mother and wife. Through his work, Alexander Graham Bell intended to integrate the hard of hearing world with the hearing world to bridge the connection. Alexander Graham Bell studied at the University of Edinburgh and he held more than 18 patents for his inventions. Alexander Graham Bell is also credited with the invention of the metal detector, photophone, and audiometer. Alexander Graham Bell died on August 2, 1922 at the age of 75.
