Alexander McQueen was an English fashion designer who created high fashion designs and founded the fashion label, Alexander McQueen in 1992. Alexander McQueen also worked as the chief designer for the fashion house, Givenchy, between 1996 to 2001. Alexander McQueen’s shows were recognized for their dramatic elements. His clothes were finely-tailored and incorporated imaginative and sometimes controversial designs. Alexander McQueen’s most recognized designs included the skull scarf and armadillo shoes. Mainstream artists like David Bowie, Lady Gaga, and Björk wore looks produced by Alexander McQueen. Alexander McQueen died on February 11, 2010 at the age of 40.
