Description

Alfred Hitchcock was an English filmmaker known for making suspenseful, yet aesthetic films. Due to his notoriety for making such suspenseful masterpieces, the term “Hitchcockian,” to describe a suspense thriller was coined after him. Alfred Hitchcock was born and raised in England before moving to Hollywood in the 1940s. Hitchcock made some of his first films in England, but the ones that garnered the most fame, such as Psycho, Family Plot, and Frenzy were all made after moving to Hollywood. In 1979, Hitchcock was awarded the AFI Lifetime Achievement award and gave all the credit for his success to his wife, Alma Reville. In April of 1980, Alfred Hitchcock passed away due to renal failure.
