Description
Description

The Bismarck Palm (Large), known scientifically as Bismarckia nobilis, is a commanding fan palm distinguished by enormous, circular, silver-blue fronds held on thick, sturdy petioles. In its large form, the palm develops a massive crown that feels architectural, with each fan forming a near-geometric disk. The trunk of Bismarckia nobilis is thick, straight, and covered with coarse leaf bases that gradually reveal a column-like structure as it matures.

Native to Madagascar’s dry savannas, the species evolved broad, reflective fronds that help moderate heat absorption. The large version showcases its full grandeur—rigid fans radiating in all directions, creating a bold, sculptural canopy that commands attention. This expression highlights the palm’s monumental quality, making it one of the most visually powerful fan palms in cultivation.
