Chloé Zhao is a Chinese filmmaker who is has garnered attention and created an impact through her work on American independent films. Chloé Zhao’s first film was, Song My Brothers Taught Me, released in 2015, which was welcomed with critical acclaim from film critics. In 2020, Nomadland, her third film received various award nominations and won 2 Academy Awards for Best Picture and Best Director. Chloé Zhao became the second woman in history and the first woman of color to win in the Best Director category. Zhao’s fourth film, Eternals, is set to be released in the fall of 2021.
