Christian Dior was a French fashion designer that continues to be highly regarded for the founding of the most recognized fashion houses, Christian Dior. Christian Dior started his fashion career at the age of 41 and founded his fashion label thanks to the help of Marcel Boussac. The designs of Christian Dior that became his signature included the Bar Suit and Jacket, Bar bag, the Scarlatti dress, and the Venus dress. His designs also incorporated the “New Look” a silhouette with a sloped shoulder, raised bustline, narrow waist, and voluminous skirt. Christian Dior died on October 23, 1957 at the age of 52.
