David Lynch is an American film and T.V. director known for making films that tend to be unrealistic, confusing portrayals of life. David Lynch was born and raised in small-town America and attended various art schools around the country. Lynch’s first film was Eraserhead, which, while very odd, gained enough of a cult following for him to break into popular filmmaking with his release of The Elephant Man. Lynch’s most successful and personal film is Blue Velvet and has garnered cult following with his bizarre T.V. show, Twin Peaks. David Lynch is best known for his unconventional and innovative filmmaking which frequently challenged the norms.
