Donna Karan intentionally created the brand to design and create modern clothes for the public. Donna Karan created a recognizable lifestyle brand for both men and women that featured handbags, accessories, lingerie, eyewear, and beauty products. Her designs were recognized for keeping their client in mind and easy mix and match pieces. In 2015, Donna Karan announced that she would step down from the DKNY brand to focus on her lifestyle brand, Urban Zen, established in 2007.
