The Game Boy is an 8-bit handheld gaming console developed by Nintendo. It is the first handheld device in the Game Boy family and was released between 1989 and 1990 around the world. This was Nintendo’s second handheld gaming console and features a green dot matrix screen with adjustable contrast, five control buttons, two game buttons, and a single speaker with an adjustable volume dial. The Game Boy is available in the colors grape, teal, kiwi, berry, dandelion, atomic purple, and neotones ice. The Game Boy was sold individually or bundled with a game like Super Mario Land or Tetris. The Game Boy was discontinued in 2003.
