George Lucas is an American filmmaker known for sci-fi and fantasy films centered on the relationship between man and machine with an emphasis on creative sound and visual effects, such as the Star Wars series. However, George Lucas did not always want to be one of the most well-known directors in Hollywood; as a kid, he dreamed of being a drag car racer until a car accident after he graduated high school changed his life. Lucas attended the University of California’s film school where he made his first short film Electronic Labyrinth THX 1138 4EB (1967). After making a few more films, with the mentorship of Francis Ford Coppola, George Lucas created Lucasfilm Ltd. And began releasing Star Wars blockbusters in 1977 through 20th Century Fox. After releasing Star Wars V-VII and I-III, George Lucas sold Lucasfilm to Disney in 2012.
