Gianni Versace was an Italian fashion designer who became internationally known for founding the fashion house of Versace. He founded the fashion label in 1978 in Milan, Italy. Gianni Versace’s designs became highly recognizable by his use of vivid colors, bold prints, as well as sensual cut-outs and silhouettes. He is credited with becoming one of the first fashion designers to create a link between the fashion and music industry. Gianni Versace also famously implemented the light chainmail, “Oroton,” which became a signature material within his looks. Gianni Versace had a tragic death when he was shot by a spree killer on July 15, 1997.
