J. K. Rowling, also known as Joanne Rowling, is a British author, philanthropist, and screenwriter, mostly known for writing the fantasy series, Harry Potter. The Harry Potter series has gone on to become the best-selling book series of all time and has been adapted into a film series. J. K. Rowling has also written within crime fiction genre under the name, Robert Galbraith. Her other known works include The Casual Vacancy, and the Cormoran Strike series. J. K. Rowling attended the University of Exeter in England. Throughout her career, J. K. Rowling has been awarded the Legion of Honour, the Locus Award, the Huge Award, and the Andre Norton Award.
