He won an Academy Award for his portrayal of psychopathic killer Anton Chigurh in the 2007 Coen brothers’ film, No Country for Old Men. He is married to Spanish actress and all-round goddess, Penelope Cruz, and has appeared alongside her in several productions, including Jamón Jamón (2002), Everybody Knows (2018) and Vicky Christina Barcelona (2008). In 2012 Bardem appeared in the James Bond film, Skyfall, and gave a mesmerizing performance as the conflicted and twisted villain, Silva. Since 2018, Bardem has worked with Greenpeace to advocate for the protection of our environment.
