Description

Legolas is a character in J. R. R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. The son of the King Thranduil of Mirkwood, Legolas is an Elven prince. He is sensitive and astute, with keen eyesight. Legolas’ archery skills are unsurpassed, and he joins the Fellowship of the Ring to help protect Frodo Baggins on his quest to return the One Ring to the fires of Mordor. He becomes good friends with the dwarf Gimli, despite their past differences. The two compete in an Orc-slaying contest during the Battle of the Hornburg, which Gimili wins by just one Orc. In Peter Jackson’s film franchise, Legolas is played by the ever so dreamy Orlando Bloom.
