Description
Description

Born in Italy in April of 1452, Leonardo da Vinci was a painter, architect, and inventor who is recognized as one of the greatest painters of all time. Two of his works, Mona Lisa and the Last Supper, are considered among the world’s most famous paintings.  He was also known for his notebooks filled with inventions relating to a myriad of subjects. Despite lacking a formal education, the diversity in both his personal disciplinary studies as well as his talent epitomized the humanist idea of the  “Renaissance Man,” for which he is considered by scholars today, as the primary example.
