Star-Lord, real name Peter Quill, is an interplanetary superhero, starship pilot, and galactic protector that appears in Marvel Comics. Often the leader of the superhero team Guardians of the Galaxy, Star-Lord is a master strategist and close-quarter combat specialist that often uses jet boots for flight, a helmet for space travel, and a pair of Element Gun pistols. Star-Lord was introduced by Marvel in Marvel Preview #4 in January, 1976.
