The Ood are an extra-terrestrial race in the BBC’s long-running science-fiction television show, Doctor Who. The first appeared on our screens in 2006, alongside the Tenth Doctor and his companion, Rose Tyler. They live in the distant future in the Ood Sphere and are known for their telepathic abilities. They humanoid in shapes but have sea-creature characteristics; they have long tentacles on their faces. The Ood have been exploited by humans in the past; they are naturally kind and gentle and can be manipulated into servitude.
