The PlayStation 3 is a home video game console that was developed by Sony. The PlayStation 3 was first released on November 11, 2006 in Japan, November 17, 2006 in North America, and March 23, 2007 in Europe and Australia.  It is the successor to the PlayStation 2 and was part of the PlayStation brand of consoles. The PlayStation 3 became the competitor to Xbox 360 and Nintendo’s Wii. The PlayStation 3 features remote play, personal media storage, a sleek design, and internet. It also has portable connectivity, 4 USB ports, 1 HDMI output, and Bluetooth. The PlayStation 3 was discontinued in 2017.
