Robin Williams is one of the most beloved comedians and actors of all time, known not only for his comedy, but for his moving performances in many movies. Robin Williams played his first starring role as Popeye in the early 1980s and went on to become one of the most iconic figures known to movie and comedy history receiving 5 Grammys, six Golden Globe Awards, two Screen Actor Guilds awards and two Primetime Emmy Awards.

Williams got his start in stand-up comedy, performing in clubs in the Bay Area and San Francisco. Williams starred in a lot of different roles from comedy to drama, some of the most notable being Mork and Mindy, Good Will Hunting, Hook, and for his voice acting in the movie Aladdin as the Genie. Robin Williams was one of a kind, unfortunately Williams suffered from a disease that caused him to take his own life in 2014.
