Salman Rushdie, also known as Sir Salman Rushdie, is an Indian-British-American novelist and author known for combining the genres of magical realism with historical fiction. His most notable works include Midnight’s Children and The Satanic Verses. The release of The Satanic Verses caused major controversy and he was forced to go into hiding and placed under protection by the British government for several years. Salman Rushdie’s writing explores the different connections, disruptions, and migrations between Eastern and Western civilizations. Throughout his career, he has received various recognitions all around the world, including the Booker Prize and St. Louis Literary Award.
