Description
Description

Snake Plant (Dracaena trifasciata), also commonly known as Mother-in-Law's Tongue or Saint George's Sword, is a striking and resilient plant recognized for its upright, sword-like leaves. These leaves are typically dark green with light green banding, and some varieties feature yellow or pale green margins, giving the plant a bold, architectural appearance. Native to tropical West Africa, Snake Plant naturally inhabits arid and rocky environments, where it thrives under tough conditions.

It is a member of the Asparagaceae family and was formerly classified under the genus Sansevieria. A notable feature of the plant is its ability to perform CAM (Crassulacean Acid Metabolism) photosynthesis, allowing it to open its stomata at night, making it especially efficient in low-light environments and valued for improving indoor air quality. Its vertical growth and drought-tolerant adaptations make it a versatile choice for both ornamental landscaping and indoor display in modern spaces.

Upright succulents are water-storing plants characterized by their vertical, columnar, or tree-like growth forms. They are most commonly found in arid deserts, rocky outcrops, and semi-arid grasslands, where their tall shapes help them maximize sunlight while minimizing ground-level heat exposure.
