The Thinker is a sculpture that embodies a nude male figure shown sitting on a rock and leaning over in deep thought. The sculpture was created by artist, August Rodin as part of a commission. The Thinker is often used to represent philosophy as it is a portrayal of deep thought and contemplation. The Thinker has an elbow placed on his left thigh and he is holding the weight of his chin with the back of his hand. The Thinker was created from bronze and has been cast into multiple versions that are spread all around the world in different museums and public spaces.
