Tyler Durden is a fictional character and main protagonist of the novel and subsequent film adaptation, Fight Club. He is characterized as chaotic and charismatic, establishing a “fight club” wherein men meet to brutally fight each other. He does this alongside the other central figure of the story known only as “The Narrator.” The Narrator is an average man part of the middle class who suffers from insomnia and depression. Durden also initiates an anti-consumerist organization that commits acts of destruction, but the Narrator feels apprehensive about this. However, it is revealed that Tyler Duren and the Narrator are actually the same person. Tyler Durden holds the spot as the greatest movie character of all time according to Empire magazine.
