Description
Description

The Volkswagen Type 2, also known as the Transporter, Kombi, Microbus, Bus (US) or Camper (UK), is an iconic van introduced in 1949. Popularly connected to the Hippie counterculture movement of the 1960s in America, the spacious Type 2 design gave owners the ability to move large groups of people comfortably and economically even for long-distance road trips. Because of the inherent flexibility of vans and the simplicity of Volkswagen’s design, the Type 2 was large enough to live in and many people further customized both the paint on the exterior and the functionality of the interior for their own needs.
