He also is referenced as England’s national poet and the Bard of Avon. William Shakespeare’s work includes 30 plays, 54 sonnets, 3 song narrative poets, and some verses. William Shakespeare’s most well-known works include Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, Julius Caesar, and Hamlet. His works have been translated into all the major languages and adapted into films. William Shakespeare’s plays continue to be performed more often than those created by any other playwright. William Shakespeare died on April 23, 1616.
