Description

Wolverine is a character in the X-Men universe known for his bad attitude and adamantium claws. He first appeared in the Marvel comic series in 1974, and later in the X-Men film franchise. He is a mutant who has retractable adamantium claws, that he can make appear at a whim. He also has enhanced animal like sense, superior strength, and healing abilities. He is typical of the antiheroes created at the time - Wolverine was a cultural product of America’s involvement in wars around the world. The character was a soldier in WW2 who was then biologically enhanced by a special operations unit. Wolverine is a firm fan favourite in the X-Men universe. He was portrayed in the film versions by actor Hugh Jackman.
