Media Personalities, comprised of a variety of people working across assorted media content platforms, are public figures known for their unique personas that are often associated with individual channels and programs in media. Once limited to news broadcasters, sports announcers, game shows, and talk show hosts, the industry of media personality has expanded to include emerging media markets such as YouTube and Twitch today, with millions more eyes being able to more directly interact with a personality with instant access. Media personalities have the tendency to be curated and targeted to a specific type of viewer experience and many personalities have the capability of appearing on more than one show or broadcast in their career. Instagram celebrities are a modern take on media personalities, becoming an 'influencer' instead of a host.
