Public Figures
A public figure is a person who is well known by the majority of people in a given society. They have a certain social standing, and often live their lives in such a way that is visible to others. Public figures can be in a variety of professions, from television, politics, entertainment, journalism, or music. A public figure often comments on important issues that affect society. Michelle Obama is an example of a public figure. She is a former First Lady of the United States of America, has recently written a book, and has a film production company. You often see her talking about different issues, in public.
A public figure can be defined as a person of that has public interest and fame like a politician, celebrity, sports hero, social media personality or business leader. Public figures tend to be people of concern for the public and have more access to mainstream communication channels than private figures do. The 3 types of public figures are general public figures, limited-purpose public figures, and involuntary public figures.
Everyone has the right to privacy as it is a fundamental right. The only exception to this may be the public figures that are in power. Public figures that are in power need to demonstrate that they are acting in what they believe is the greater good for the people they represent. Media outlets tend to try to uncover the personal lives of public figures and have reduced their expectation to privacy rights.
Some may argue that public figures have a responsibility to be role models while others say they do not. A public figure is typically considered to be notable for their work and hold a responsibility to carry out their job. All public figures are humans and whether they are role models or not they are bound to make mistakes and should be allowed to do so.
