Description
Description

The Afghan Hound is one of the oldest purebred dogs, quite possibly the oldest, as the breed predates written history. The Afghan Hound hails from the cold, mountainous regions of Afghanistan, India, and Pakistan. As a breed born in the mountains, the Afghan hound has a long thick coat and large paw pads that allowed for comfort amongst the cold climate as hunting dogs. The Afghan Hound’s temperament is loyal, sensitive, and profoundly loving towards his pack. This dog may not be the dog for everyone, as he requires a large, fenced yard and plenty of running, but for some dog owners there is no dog a better match than the regal, Afghan Hound.
