Description
Description

The American English Coonhound is a coonhound breed that originates from the Southern United States. Descendants of hunting hounds, the American English Coonhound has a high prey drive, and it is typically used to hunt raccoons, but they are also skilled in treeing. Their short to medium length coats come in three types- redtick, bluetick, and a tricolor tick pattern. They are good natured and sociable dogs, but require patience in training, as they can be strong-willed and stubborn. When not on the prey’s tail, they can be mellow, but they require regular exercise.
