It is also called the Kangal Shepherd Dog, Kangal, or Goban Kopegi, used for guarding flocks against predators and even small children because of its protective, loyal, and gentle instincts. It has origins in Turkey and is mostly sable or fawn with dense, short double coats. The Anatolian Shepherd Dog is not heavy, ergo has greater speed and agility. The ears drop to its head side, and the little bushy tail curls to its midsection. It is sensitive to anesthesia.
