Andrew Cuomo is the 56th Governor of New York. He comes from a political family; his father Mario Cuomo held the same position as governor for three terms. He started his career in law before being elected as governor in 2010. He is generally known for his liberal democratic views and his occasional deals with Republicans which have angered those on the Left of the Democratic Party.

However, he recently become a voice of reason during the coronavirus pandemic, criticizing the Trump administration’s handling of the crisis and advocating for more political transparency and greater visibility regarding the current situation. Though Andrew Cuomo was often praised at the start of the pandemic, throughout 2020 and 2021, he has been accused of sexual misconduct and obscuring the numbers of deaths in nursing homes during the pandemic.
