Biggie Smalls is an American rapper. His real name is Christopher George Latore Wallace but he is better known by his numerous stage names which also include The Notorious B.I.G and Biggie. Born in New York City in 1972, he was central to the East Coast Hip-hop scene and was known for his laidback rapping style and complex lyrics. His most famous tracks include Juicy and Big Poppa. Biggie was awarded the Billboard Music Awards' Rapper of the Year in 1995. In 1997, he was killed in a drive by shooting. His second album entitled Life After Death was released two weeks later to critical success.
