Description
Description

Bird’s-eye Primrose (Single) (Primula farinosa) is a delicate perennial shade flower known for its graceful simplicity and early-season charm. It produces slender stems topped with loose clusters of small, five-petaled blossoms in soft shades of lilac to pink, each accented by a bright yellow center. The blooms rise from a compact rosette of narrow, pale green leaves often dusted with a fine, silvery coating, a trait that helps protect the plant in its cool, damp habitats.

Also called bird’s-eye primula, it is native to moist meadows, stream edges, and alpine grasslands across Europe and parts of Asia. The single form reflects the species in its pure, unaltered state, offering a natural elegance untouched by hybrid variation. Blooming in spring, it provides an important nectar source for early pollinators. Its modest size, refined color palette, and affinity for cool, shaded environments make Bird’s-eye Primrose a subtle yet captivating addition to woodland gardens.
