Earl Simmons, better known as DMX (Dark Man X), loved Hip Hop, East Coast hip hop, gangsta rap, and hardcore hip hop. Besides being a singer and songwriter, the American was also an actor featuring in television series and films such as Romeo Must Die and Last Hour. Musically, he received several acclamations and commercial success with best-selling albums such as "... And Then There Was X," "Hell Is Hot," and "It's Dark."

At one time, he held position one on the Billboard 200 charts five times in a row from a debut album. Thus, being the first artist to achieve such a feat. DMX is a seven-time MTV Video music award nominee, three-time Grammy Award nominee, and took home the 2000 American Music and 1999 Billboard Music Awards. He has also left a memoir, "The Autobiography of DMX."
