Description

Foamflower (Single) (Tiarella cordifolia) is a perennial shade-loving plant celebrated for its delicate, frothy blossoms and attractive foliage. Its flowers appear in airy spikes, each made up of tiny, star-like blooms in white or pale pink, creating a soft, cloud-like effect above the leaves. The foliage forms a low mound of heart-shaped leaves, often lightly textured and sometimes marked with subtle darker patterns.

Also known simply as foamflower, it is native to eastern North America, where it grows in moist woodlands, along shaded stream edges, and in forest clearings. The single form represents the species in its natural, unaltered state, highlighting its graceful simplicity and ecological role. Blooming in mid to late spring, it offers an important nectar source for early pollinators. With its combination of gentle floral display and year-round leaf interest, Foamflower brings understated elegance to shaded gardens while supporting biodiversity in natural landscapes.
