Description
Description

Grecian Windflower (Single) (Anemonoides blanda) is a low-growing perennial shade flower admired for its delicate, daisy-like blooms and fine-textured foliage. Each flower features a circle of slender petals in shades of blue, violet, pink, or white, surrounding a golden-yellow center that brightens the early spring landscape. The deeply divided, fern-like leaves form a soft green carpet at the base, adding texture even after the flowers fade.

Also called Balkan anemone, it is native to southeastern Europe and parts of the Middle East, where it grows in open woodlands, rocky slopes, and grassy clearings. The single form reflects the plant in its natural, unmodified state, with its charming simplicity and seasonal flair. Blooming early in the year, it provides an important nectar source for awakening pollinators. Its gentle beauty, naturalizing habit, and ability to thrive in dappled light make the Grecian Windflower a graceful addition to woodland gardens and spring borders.

Shade flowers are flowering plants that have adapted to thrive in low-light environments, typically beneath tree canopies, along woodland edges, or in north-facing gardens. These plants evolved to make efficient use of dappled or indirect sunlight, often developing broad leaves to capture light.
