Ice Hockey Goalie Stick

Measured illustration of a Ice Hockey Goalie Stick dimensioned with overall length, width and depth

An Ice Hockey Goalie Stick is a sports equipment explicitly designed for the goaltenders in an ice hockey game. The stick has similar properties as those of a standard ice hockey stick. However, the goaltender stick has a slight modification at the lower part — which is more comprehensive, providing more blocking surface area, and bears a smaller angle. Besides, the blade is slightly curved toward the play direction. The goaltender uses his or her stick to play when needed, deflect a puck directed to his or her goal, block a puck, or absorb a puck shock when making a save.

Ice Hockey Goalie Sticks have a length of 56”-63” (142.2-160 cm), blade length of 15”-15.5” (38.1-39.4 cm), blade height between 3.5”-4” (88.9-101.6 mm), and shaft depth of .88”-1.13” (22.4-28.7 mm). The mass of an Ice Hockey Goalie Stick is 21.2-29.1 oz (600-825 g).
