Team sports are any sport in which two or more players work together to compete against others for a common goal. Hockey, football, rugby, and basketball are among the most common team sports in the world with players working together to move a ball to score points while following the established rules of the sports. Team sports require careful game planning from coaches and team members, and promote physical and mental toughness, along with togetherness to complete the task at hand. This is no small feat and requires trust and practice from all involved. Team sports help players (kids and adults) in every corner of the world to practice patience, perseverance, and socialization.

Volleyball Court

Volleyball Courts are flat horizontal playing surfaces sized for the game of volleyball. Indoor volleyball court surfaces are required to be made of resilient wood flooring or poured with a synthetic urethane. The size of an indoor volleyball court is the same as an outdoor court.

Volleyball courts are regulated at 59’ (18 m) in length with a width of 29.5' (9 m). Attack lines dividing the front and back rows are marked 9’10” (3 m) parallel to the net. Free zones at a minimum of 9’10” (3 m) are required around the entirety of the court with generous clearances up to 16’5” (5 m) on the sides and 21’4” (6.5 m) in the back.

Football Officials

A Football Official is tasked with enforcing the rules in a game of football. There are seven officials in a professional football game, though there are other organized football games with eight officials.

These officials can be: a referee who handles the supervision of the game; the umpire watches the game from behind the defensive line and linebackers looking for illegal blocks and holding; the head linesman looks out for offsides, fouls, and encroachment; the line judge works with the head linesman, noting fouls and offsides; the field judge/side judge/back judge watches for actions of the linebackers, receivers, and defenders and ruling on incomplete passes, pass interference and illegal blocks; and the center judge who stands beside the referee, assisting the referee and umpire in penalty marking and ball spotting.

Football Officials vary in height, but have an average typical height of around 6’0” (1.83 m).
