IKEA Mathopen Headboard

Series of front and side elevation drawings of the IKEA Mathopen Headboard with height, width, and typical bed heights

IKEA’s Mathopen Headboard creates a dark-horizontal presence that showcases depth from the extruding slim pieces of pine from the base single piece headboard. The slim extruding pieces create a structural bond to the headboard creating a sturdy back piece to the bed and the bed frame.

The IKEA Mathopen Headboard has a height of 47.25” (120 cm) and depth of 1.625” (4 cm). The IKEA Mathopen Headboard comes in widths of 63.75 and 79.5” (162, 202 cm).

A headboard is a wall mounted or standalone furniture piece that rests at or above the head of a bed. The headboard was originally used as an added layer of insulation in the bedroom to keep a sleeper warm and protected from any cold drafts that could occur inside a poorly insulated house.
